Dramafeste

Hi all.. After revolutionizing the entire science department with my super cool goggles, things have come to a rest =D The end of the week could be represented by dramafeste, whose theme this year is razzle dazzle, and certainly, some performances have left us dazzled while others left us scratching our heads. Yupz, this is a blog entry about dramafeste 2007, therefore if you are watching on friday, please close this immediately.

After watching the 4 plays, this is my ranking for the 4 facs

  1. Ares
  2. Apollo
  3. Artemis
  4. Athena
Ares in my opinion is the best hands-down.

They have damn good acting. They were very natural in their roles and they really really portray their characters very well. SimChun and Rui An left everyone speechless and tickled respectively. Also, their plot was nice. They made it in such a way that no one would notice what the actors were doing until they reveal the plot to you. Anyone took note about what really happened the first time round? Did they do the actions or were they added in merely in the recount?? I bet no one can give a definite answer unless told by the actors. This smart move made me feel that they deserve the top prize.

Next, i cant really decide between Apollo and Artemis. Both of them have merits and flaws and i think i would leave the final decision to whomever is judging the plays.

Apollo - The Virgin Suicides. Throughout the entire play, they were spouting Shakespeare and these words just flew over most of our heads. Don't try to decipher what they are saying, get the underlying message. They have the strongest message out of all the4 plays. What they wanna say is hidden beneath the multitude of flowery language they spout. The message is clear: Freedom must be given to teenagers, restricting them would only lead to undesirable consequences.

Artemis - I cant remember the name. Anyway, this is exactly like a slasher movie. Although it was choke full of humour, and left the audience laughing and at the same time eager, excited and enthralled in the suspense of what is going to happen next, there basically is no storyline. They are only saved by the fact they included an author. I believe that they were trying to say that a writer controls the events that happens in their books. omg i cant do analysis... help me!! Im too tired. i doubt i wanna continue. nvm lets finish up.

Athena - All the World's Offstage. On stage? Off stage?? Nah...

ok i shall go sleep

very tired thinking
